NEW FRONTIER RIDE: BUILDING POWER IN GEORGIA (AND IOWA)
“Through non-violence, courage displaces fear; love transforms hate. Acceptance dissipates prejudice; hope ends despair. Peace dominates war; faith reconciles doubt. Mutual regard cancels enmity. Justice for all overthrows injustice. The redemptive community supersedes systems of gross social immorality.”
The New Frontier Ride
The ‘Freedom Riders’ stood up for civil rights, equality, and justice. Now, it’s time for a new ‘freedom ride’ - the ‘New Frontier Ride’ bringing organizers and grassroots supporters from Iowa - to Georgia. We are registering, engaging, and mobilizing voters to turn out and vote on January 5th in Georgia. Join us.
Apply for a New Frontier Ride Fellowship
We are recruiting, training, and deploying organizers with experience in Iowa (and other swing states) to go to Georgia and help register, mobilize, and turn out voters. Apply now to be an inaugural “New Frontier Ride Fellow”.
What is Happening in Georgia?
We are launching a new program to take grassroots political power from Iowa and apply it to the upcoming run-off elections for Georgia’s United States Senate contests. We are calling it the ‘New Frontier Ride’ and will recruit, hire, and train organizers in Iowa to go to Georgia to register, turnout, and mobilize voters to participate in the January 5th election.
New Frontier Action Fund will be deploying a mobile GOTV staging program across rural and suburban parts of Georgia to register voters, educate voters on voter protection, and generate early and in-person votes for the January 5th, 2021 Senate run-offs.
“It’s all hands on deck for the January 5th runoff,” said New Frontier Action Fund founder Eddie Mauro. “The fate of action on social, racial, and economic justice hinges on control of the United States Senate and we want to make sure every eligible voter in Georgia has an opportunity to participate and make their voices heard,” Mauro continued.
What’s the Connection between Iowa & Georgia?
In addition to sending organizers to Georgia, the organization will be training organizers with the intention of returning those organizers to Iowa to continue advocating for New Frontier Action Fund’s agenda in Iowa.
“Iowa was ground zero for one of the most expensive Senate races in United States history,” said New Frontier Action Fund’s Reverend Rob Johnson, “but that political organization could fall apart if new organizers aren’t recruited, trained, and hired to keep doing that grassroots work here. Stacey Abrams showed what sustained on the ground organizing can do in Georgia - we want to bring that model back to Iowa in 2021.”
When is this Happening?
New Frontier Action Fund will have organizers on the ground in Georgia as early as next week, but has set a target of November 30th to fully deploy. Organizers will be in place to help with voter registration prior to the December 5th registration deadline and will stay on the ground through January 5th. They have launched a website at NewFrontierRide.com where people can apply for the New Frontier Rider Fellowship, contribute, and get updates from the organization.
