NEW FRONTIER ANNOUNCES BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENTS WITH LOUIS CARR OF BET AND CONGRESSMAN RO KHANNA
“The Reverend Rob Johnson, Director of Partnerships for NFAF, said of the events next month, “As Dr. King said, “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” If we are going to bring our country together, we need to embrace freedom, equality, and justice for all as fundamental American values again. To do that, we need to examine history to understand our present.”
DES MOINES, IA -- Iowa based and nationally operating non-profit, New Frontier Action Fund (NFAF), has announced a slate of online events for February commemorating Black History Month.
The Reverend Rob Johnson, Director of Partnerships for NFAF, said of the events next month, “As Dr. King said, “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” If we are going to bring our country together, we need to embrace freedom, equality, and justice for all as fundamental American values again. To do that, we need to examine history to understand our present.”
New Frontier Action events are streamed live at NewFrontierAction.com/live and feature conversations with both national and local figures. Guests include Cong. Ro Khanna of California, BET Network’s Louis Carr, and Prof. Scott Ellsworth of the University of Michigan.
“We started New Frontier Action because we think it’s time we get back to ‘working for working people’ again, not just the corporations and insiders in Washington,” said New Frontier’s Mark Langgin.
Langgin continued, “Black History Month is a chance for Americans to reflect on our common values. Principles of freedom, justice, and equality. Our history hasn’t lived up to those shared ideals. We hope events like this will inspire people to take action in their daily lives by getting involved registering voters, educating young people, and getting civically engaged.”
New Frontier Action Fund is a 501c4 social welfare organization founded in 2020 to register, educate, and organize new voters in Iowa, the Upper Midwest, and other battleground states. They are focused on building economic opportunities to lift communities out of poverty and organize around core American values related to freedom, justice, and equality.
